Broadway Favorites will be ‘Breathless on Broadway’ on Monday, June 6th at Sardi’s to
raise awareness about Pulmonary Hypertension

On Monday, June 6th, 2016, many popular and talented Broadway performers will shine a light on Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) at the 2nd annual breathless on Broadway benefit at Sardi’s Restaurant, 234 West 44th Street, NYC. For one night, some of Broadway’s favorites, including Max Von Essen (An American in Paris, Evita, Dance of the Vampires, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc), Giuseppe Bausillo (Cats, Aladdin, Newsies, Billy Elliot), Michael Lanning (Bonnie & Clyde, Civil War), Zachary Sayle (Newsies Nat’l Tour), and Liv Rand will help phaware global association raise awareness for Pulmonary Hypertension (PH), a disease that currently has no cure but can be managed with proper care and treatment. The benefit evening includes a Red Carpet, dinner and the show.
Broadway’s Zach Rand (Les Miserables & Mary Poppins) and TV & Radio Host Jeffrey Hayzlett will co-host the benefit. The evening will also include a performance by Switch, a 5-member professional a cappella group with an ear for classic and contemporary collisions. Switch pushes the boundaries of the vocal ensemble with their own original arrangements and brought down the house at last year’s breathless on Broadway. Additional performers will be announced soon.The benefit will include a silent auction featuring unique prizes including dinner for two at an exclusive NYC restaurant, tickets to a Broadway show, and more.
“Broadway (and Sardi’s) are normally dark on Mondays, but not on June 6th. That Monday night will be all about raising awareness for an incurable disease, to honor those who live with Pulmonary Hypertension and remember those who have died from the disease,” said Hayzlett. “I am honored to co-host the evening’s festivities with Zach Rand so that others affected by the disease have a chance at a better life.”

And while my sister Chloë isn’t here to witness this, we continue our fight for the many other families affected by Pulmonary Hypertension. I am excited to co-host with Jeff and thrilled to welcome my talented Broadway colleagues who will perform to help this cause” said Zach Rand.
Marie Rand co-founded phaware global association with John Hess, Steve Van Wormer and Harry Rozakis. Each intimately connected to the world of pulmonary hypertension, they bring unique business expertise to the organization. “We focus on global awareness and alternative research through the use of technology. We have taken the models from our for-profit work and thrust them into the non-profit world resulting in a unique business model. Our understanding of the disease and for the community in conjunction with our backgrounds in high-end marketing and technology allows us to change the course of both awareness and research. I am thrilled to be working in honor of my daughter Chloë and for all people affected by PH,” said Marie Rand. “The idea forbreathless on Broadway began in the car driving home one night when Zach was appearing in “Les Miz” on Broadway. He asked if someday his voice would be big enough to help other people. He was nine years old. Just before his eighteenth birthday, the first breathless on Broadway happened.”
