CITY STORIES: Tales of Love and Magic in London charms New York at Brits Off Broadway at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to host the US premiere of CITY STORIES: Tales of Love and Magic in London, written and directed by James Phillips, with original music composed and performed by Rosabella Gregory, at the 2016 Brits Off Broadway festival. Featuring a ravishing set of new plays by playwright James Phillips (writer of McQueen: or Lee and Beauty, which was called“sharp, funny, volatile, vulnerable” by the Financial Times) mixed with live music composed and performed by Rosabella Gregory (winner of New York Songwriter’s Circle Song Contest), CITY STORIES is a sequence of interwoven love stories that take audiences on a magical journey through a magical city. Called “sublime, atmospheric and enchanting” by LondonTheatre.com, CITY STORIES, which broke box office records at the St. James Theatre, is a finely crafted love letter to London.

The cast features Daphne Alexander; Louisa Clein; Alan Cox; Matthew Flynn; Tom Gordon; Phoebe Sparrow and Sarah Quintrell.The production designer is David Farley. The production stage manager is Sofia Montgomery.

 CITY STORIES: Tales of Love and Magic in London begins performances on Tuesday, May 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 29.  Press opening is Sunday, May 15 at 3:15 PM.  The performance schedule isTuesday – Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM.
