Philip Ridley’s RADIANT VERMIN, with Pramface couple Scarlett Alice Johnson and Sean Michael Verey, receives US premiere at Brits Off Broadway at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to host the US premiere of RADIANT VERMIN, written by Philip Ridley and directed by David Mercatali, at the 2016 Brits Off Broadway festival. Produced by Supporting Wall, Metal Rabbit Productions, and Soho Theatre, RADIANT VERMIN begins performances on Thursday, June 2 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 3.  

RADIANT VERMIN is a fast-paced, highly physical, energetic whirlwind with a killer heart, layered with Ridley’s trademark vicious comedy, satire and social commentary, flecked with horror. It premiered at Bristol’s Tobacco Factory Theatres and London’s Soho Theatre in spring 2015, where it was called “a deeply macabre, stingingly funny modern fairy tale… clever, funny and provocative” by The Financial Times.

RADIANT VERMIN features Debra Baker (Ridley’s Mercury Fur with Theatre Delicatessen and Vincent River at the Old Red Lion), Scarlett Alice Johnson (BBC’s Pramface), and Sean Michael Verey (Best Solo Performance winner for Ridley’sTonight with Donny Stixx at the Edinburgh Fringe; BBC’s Pramface).

The production designer is William Reynolds. The production stage manager is Sofia Montgomery.David Mercatali  is the director and Philip Ridley is the playwright.

Press opening is Tuesday, June 7 at 7:15 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesday – Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM.
