Red Caravan launches with the world premiere of Paz Pardo’s RUBBERMATCH

Red Caravan, a new collective of curious, kind of nerdy theater artists, launches with the world premiere RUBBERMATCH, written by Paz Pardo and directed by Andrew Willis-Woodward.

Ten years after tragedy drives a group of college friends apart, two are unexpectedly reunited. Ceci, fleeing a broken relationship, tries to find a new home by moving in with Nina but their attempts to reconnect uncover old wounds. RUBBERMATCH is an intimate exploration of complex, contemporary female friendships, examining questions of grief, sexuality, and the pasts that haunt us. When does a friend’s “help” become an act of violence?

The cast features Kayla Jackmon (At the Vanishing Point, High Lonesome Sound, and So Unnatural a Level at Actors Theater of Louisville) and Meredith Owens (Into the Woods at CAP21).

The design team includes Peiyi Wong (scenic design), Jason Fok (lighting design) and Cherie A. Roberts (property design).

RUBBERMATCH begins performances on Thursday, May 5 for a limited engagement through Saturday, May 21. Opening night is Monday, May 9 at 8 PM. The performance schedule is Wednesday – Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM. Please note, there are added performances on Monday, May 9 at 8 PM (opening night) and Saturday, May 14 & 21 at 3 PM; there is no performance on Wednesday, May 11.
